Clifton Highfield resides in Austin, a place that is typically known for its warmer temperatures. Unfortunately, a cold snap hit the region that has forced many to reconsider their living situations. As homes in Texas struggled to maintain warmth, people started to take photos of their absurd new reality. Highfield’s post of the icicles that started to collect on his ceiling ended up going viral.
This was the first time that we had ever seen such a thing. We are sure that we were not the only ones. Either the pipes in this man’s house had burst or he had left the fan outside. We are not sure what happened here but it is too much to endure for any of us.
Texas has been going through it lately and our hearts go out to anyone who has been forced to go without heat and electricity during the freezing temperatures. This man’s video clip summed up the whole situation immediately for anyone who did not understand what was going on.
While some people were giving southerners a bad time about not being prepared for “a little bit of snow,” that’s not actually the case. The reality is that none of the southern states, like Texas, are equipped with the infrastructure to handle the type of weather they experienced. They don’t even have snow plows for their roads!
The weather may have decided to mess with Texas, but they’re incredibly reslient. The weather seems to be reverting back to normal, but the damage will take a while to clean up. Our best wishes to anyone who was forced to deal with this awful ordeal.
