There is something pretty universal about ice cream: it’s delicious! It always makes for a quick and easy treat at any time of year.
However, not all ice cream is the same. Depending on where you are in the world, you’ll be sure to find different flavors – some of them more unique than others.
When I was in Mexico for vacation many years ago, I remember coming across this ice cream flavor made out of this fruit called mamey sapote or something like that. I’ve never seen in the US, but I remember it being so delicious.
While there are many flavors of ice cream that probably aren’t found in the US, Weird History Food decided to take a look at the origins of some of the most unique and traditional ice cream flavors around the world.
Many of these are unknown to those living in the US. The flavors are such flavors like lucuma, tamarind, brown bread, mastic, rose water, and ube.
However, there are also other ones that are even more strange and unusual, like macaroni & cheese, French’s yellow mustard, and Lucky Charms-flavored ice cream
Weird History Food says in their video, “Today we’re talking unexpected ice cream flavors and traditional recipes in their home countries that somehow never made the trek to North American freezers.”
