Cutting onions is not the easiest job in the world. Even those who are used to cooking on a regular basis struggle with that and we fully understand where they are coming from.
That’s what makes this clip from food vlogger Senpai Kai such a special one. He is here to show us how to cut onions without all of the usual hassles and let us tell you, this is pretty awesome stuff.

In fact, he is even offering up three separate methods that are sure to make life easier for all parties involved. The first cut is a very fine one that is perfect for certain meals that require this style of slicing. Meanwhile, the second is a larger dice that is meant for a different group of meals. The third, on the other hand, is actually a pickled onion recipe.
While the process can be wasteful, Kai teaches viewers about the importance of maintaining consistent cuts over the course of time. The process goes much more smoothly when the cuts are always consistent and even. It’s one thing to read this and it is another thing to watch Senpai put it into practice, though.

“Here’s how to cut an onion the Michelin Star way. …I thought I’d show you guys how to do it for home uses. I think it’s pretty impractical. It’s pretty wasteful but if you work in a Michelin Star restaurant, this is the way they’re gonna teach you. Just so every cut is perfect,” Kai says. He even admits to the impracticality of the whole thing but that’s okay.
This gives us the chance to eat like kings, if we do desire. It’s always nice to have options available to you in these instances, isn’t it? No one wants to be stuck preparing their dinners the same old way, especially when they have the ability to emulate the tactics that are used by five-star chefs.

Thanks to this video, you can dine in style every night, if you so choose. Kai admits that these methods might be a bit wasteful but there is something amazing about watching them in action.
