A healthy meal by no means has to be a boring meal. This simple Honey Mustard Salmon recipe is here to prove it! Not only is salmon a great source of protein, it’s packed with beneficial fatty acids which are good for your heart and brain. But most importantly, it’s delicious and super simple to prepare. The flavor of this dish walks the line of sweet and tangy with a homemade honey mustard sauce that compliments the buttery salmon perfectly. Overall, it’s a knockout dinner that couldn’t be easier to prepare!
You’ll start out by mixing together the sauce ingredients, saving the whole grain mustard until a later step. Allow the salmon to marinate in the sauce for 15-20 minutes to really soak up that flavor. When ready to cook, heat oil in a large frying pan and add the filets once the oil is good and hot. Cook for about 4 minutes a side, time will vary some depending on the thickness of your filets.
Mix the whole grain mustard into the remaining sauce and drizzle it over each filet before serving. This dish pairs well with roasted veggies like green beans or asparagus and a side of mashed potatoes (that mustard sauce is amazing on everything!). Even folks who are unsure about fish might just be swayed by this tasty recipe. Give it a try the next time you’re after a quick and healthy recipe- you won’t be disappointed.
