There’s something very nostalgic about a nice thick cut of ham. The taste instantly takes me back to family holiday dinners, all of us crammed around the dining table waiting to get a slice. And while ham will always be a classic holiday choice, with this easy ham steak recipe it can also be an easy weeknight meal. These Honey Mustard Ham Steaks are coated with an easy homemade sauce that truly elevates the dinner to something special. We really can’t believe we didn’t try them out sooner.

If pre-cut ham steaks aren’t available at your grocery store, you should be able to ask the deli counter to slice you a ½-inch cut in a basic ham from the case. We wouldn’t go any thinner than that as you want a nice juicy result. The steaks we were working with were quite large so we opted to cut them in half, but you can skip that step if you’d like to keep them in large servings.

As we mentioned, the magic here is in the sauce. A mixture of dijon, whole grain mustard, honey, and garlic come together to really pack a punch in the flavor department. Generously spread the sauce over each steak and pop them in the oven for just about 20 minutes. If you’d like crisper edges, go ahead and broil the steaks for a couple minutes, but keep a close eye on them!
Pair them with roasted potatoes and green beans, or slap it on your favorite bread for a delicious sandwich. However you serve ‘em, this recipe is bound to be a keeper!
