There is nothing quite like getting away from it all and Airbnb offers opportunities to do so that are often much better than staying at a local hotel. That being said, anytime you are staying in such a home, you also need to be cautious about your security.

Airbnb offers much more to the traveler, regardless of whether you are staying short-term or long-term. Have you ever thought about staying in a treehouse? They have you covered! Maybe you want to rent an entire home and live like a local. They have you covered!

However, because you’re renting from some stranger on the internet, it’s possible that there are some secret cameras hanging out in those homes and if you don’t know how to find them, you may just be the next victim.

Fortunately, there are some people who want to help you identify and weed out those hidden cameras before they become an issue. Marcus Hutchins is an ex-hacker who regularly posts videos on TikTok about cyber security. You would do well to listen to what he has to say.

Airbnb hidden cameras are only one of the items that he brings to light. He also helps with a wide variety of other technologically related traps, such as phishing scams or how to use public Wi-Fi without losing your private information.

In the video, he shows how easily cameras can be hidden. Some examples are in a fire alarm, on a nightstand clock, and even on a plug-in the wall.

It only requires a small hole in the wall for a hidden camera to be a problem, so you may need to look for these in places like the bathroom and shower area.
