Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Sometimes, what you really need in life is a spa day. For those of us who do the occasional spa day, that typically involves making an appointment, taking a day off work, driving to the place, and then driving back home once it’s done.

I’m not going to lie, sometimes the drive home undoes all relaxation of the spa if you’re having to deal with traffic and reckless drivers on the road. It would be so much nicer if you could just never leave your house in order to get pampered.

However, if you want at-home pampering, the best that most of us can do is a warm bath and some scented candles. But if you’re Gwyneth Paltrow, at home pampering takes on a whole other meaning.

And it’s pure luxury.

Gwyneth Paltrow is already known for being an A-list actress. But now she can also claim “interior designer” as one of her attributes.

Paltrow is being featured in the upcoming March issue of “Architectural Digest” for the work she’s hired people to do on her home in Montecito, CA. Paltrow spent a long six years helping design her newly built home, and as part of the upcoming issue, she gave fans a tour of the inside. All we can say is, “Wow!”

Her home is stunning. It has countless windows letting in natural light, as well as sky-high ceilings. Take about feeling palatial. She even has fireplaces constructed with reclaimed wood. As Paltrow explained, her home’s design is a “Parisian apartment set within an old European barn.”

As Paltrow said at the start of the tour, a lot of the European influence that is in her home was drawn from the time she spent living as “an ex-pat in Europe.”

Paltrow might have had the inspiration, but it was designers Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch of Roman and Williams who helped Paltrow bring her vision to life.

There are so many striking features within the home, but none as cool as the reclaimed black-and-white tile floor which Paltrow says reminds her of her time living in London. There are also other touches to the home that are personalized and have her unique touch.

Another designer to feature in Paltrow’s home design was Brigette Romanek, who’s also a longtime friend of the actress. The two worked side by side, even when they didn’t necessarily have the same creative vision 24/7. As Paltrow said, “I thought I’d get a few great pieces and it would all be fine, but as time went by, I realized that there were so many layers — so many things that needed attention — that I couldn’t pull it off by myself.”

While Paltrow’s single-story home is a dream brought to life, nothing is as impressive as her large, at-home spa.

The sprawling area is a lavish, Parisian-inspired spa that looks like it was made for royalty. It’s got lots of gold accents and has several small pools in it.

It is nothing short of incredible – definitely the definition of at-home spa goals! We’re a little jealous of this one.
