Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Chef Amaury Guichon of the Pastry Academy in Las Vegas is responsible for some of our favorite clips of recent memory. The stuff that Guichon comes up with is absolutely ridiculous but we do not mean that as an insult.

The latest creation that he has devised is something else, isn’t it? We are struggling to wrap our minds around this one and you are sure that you will, too.

The mere idea of a giant squid is probably terrifying to some but Guichon has found a way to make this fear more palatable.

In fact, the giant squid has gone from being a menace to being quite pleasing to the palate, if we do say so ourselves. This amazing construction may look like something different but trust us on this one….it is made entirely of chocolate.

Even the rusty anchor is made of chocolate, which is one of the biggest surprises of all. He’s no stranger to incredible chocolate sculptures like this one but this might be his best work yet. Can you tell that we watch his videos a lot? Anyway, the level of care and dedication that he puts into these projects is a sight to behold.

Every component looks as real as it possibly could and this is a testament to the time he puts in.

In order to create this sculpture, he needed a whopping 95 pounds of chocolate. The painstaking process also took him five days to complete. The rusty anchor portion of the process is a particular must-see.

“It’s always fun to combine an aquatic theme with architectural elements, my favorite feature is the rusted anchor technique,” Guichon wrote in the video’s caption.

It is clear to see that he is having a ball here and the joy that he has for what it does comes across in the final product.
