We are not sure if commercials have gotten better as of late or if we are simply paying better attention to them. This is a mystery that we have yet to get to the bottom of.
Geico’s commercials are especially hilarious to us, though. The Dikembe Mutombo commercials where he was blocking shots in all sorts of public settings was an absolute classic. We’re also in love with the Tag Team spots.
For those who may have been living under a rock since these commercials debuted, they feature the classic rap duo Tag Team and incorporate a generous amount of ice cream. Their timeless smash “Whoomp! (There It Is)” has been flipped into a new anthem: “Scoop, There It Is.”
Since then, Geico has turned that anthem into ice cream! They collaborated with Mikey Cole of New York’s Mikey Likes It Ice Cream to create a new flavor.
This ice cream comes with a vanilla base but all sorts of goodies have been added. French vanilla is the flavor of choice, of course! Sprinkles, chocolate, cookie dough, peanut butter, chocolate, and Rocky road are also represented because that’s what the song says.
It’s really that simple. If anything, we are now wondering why it took them so long to come up with this ice cream flavor. It was all laid out for them right there in the commercial. We are very sorry to tell you that there is a major catch here, though. You won’t be able to waltz into a supermarket and take this ice cream home with you. You are going to have to win a giveaway.
