Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

When we lose a loved one, it can be really difficult, especially, at the funeral. I feel like funerals are extremely tough, as they’re a reminder that our loved ones are really gone from this world.

It can be tough to get through a funeral day, but sometimes, if we’re lucky, our loved ones find a way to make us smile. And one grandma found the perfect way to ensure that all the mourning guests at her funeral would enjoy one final laugh with her.

One granddaughter, Gracie Perryman, went to her grandma’s funeral on the 18th of October in Breckenridge, Texas. Naturally, she was sad to see her grandma go, but at the end of the funeral, she got quite a funny surprise.

After the funeral was over, these cards were given out to those in attendance:

The funeral card features a picture of her grandma flipping off the camera, plus a picture of an Ouija board, beside a note that reads, “Let’s keep in touch!”

That is quite clever, and apparently, very on-brand for the grandmother according to her granddaughter. According to Business Insider, Gracie stated, “It was hysterical. And everybody was like, of course, that’s so Jodie of her.”

Gracie added that her grandma Jodie was “hilarious. She had a great sense of humor and a huge heart. She loved her family. And she just took care of people around her. She was a great woman.”

According to Gracie, Jodie passed away from cancer at the age of 81. While we have no doubt she will be missed by many, at least she left a very lasting impression from beyond.
