Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Nothing says cringe quite like going back through your social media engagement. I don’t think any of us have been able to escape at least one cringe-worthy post. And let’s be honest, a few of those potentially cringy posts may have been inspired by, or aimed at, an ex.

Heartbreak can do some crazy things to a person. But thankfully, most of us haven’t had a cringy post go viral. But for one woman, a rather questionable TikTok started gaining a lot of attention after posting.

The internet was fascinated by the woman’s TikTok in which she shared the truth behind a photoshoot. In the TikTok clip, there are a series of wedding photo pictures. But, it’s not her actual wedding. As she explains in the caption, she faked a wedding in an effort to get a rise out of her ex-boyfriend.

Her exact words were, “Remembering the time I faked my own wedding and had a professional photoshoot so he would reach out…Worst part is he watched my story and still didn’t reach out.”

According to the TikTok clip, user @dieschaklin didn’t shy away from going all out with faking her wedding either. It appears that she went beyond just hiring a professional photographer and actually invested in a beautiful venue and a gorgeous white gown. She even got herself a horse for the occasion!

Those weren’t the only highlights. She even went for a three-tiered wedding cake and a stunning bouquet of flowers. At first glance, it does look like a real wedding day, especially since she looks quite happy while hugging her “groom.”

But as she revealed, it was all to get back at her ex. And sadly, it didn’t work. However, it did gain a lot of attention as many fellow TikTokers had lots to say about the “determination” she showed when faking her own wedding. One of the TikTokers asked what everyone was probably thinking, “WHO IS THE GUY?”

There were also many more who seemed to agree that no ex would ever reach out once seeing that a wedding has happened. However, there was one person who boldly fessed up, “I did this and he actually reached out and ‘stopped the wedding’ and he asked me to marry him all it takes is just the right amount of crazy ladies.”

Someone else jokingly posted, “My toxic trait is I see nothing wrong with this.”

But one person did catch that there was one glaring detail the fake bride seemed to overlook, and thus they replied to the TikTok saying, “GIRL BC THERE WAS NO RING ON THE FINGER.” Funnily enough, that comment caused someone else to agree and add, “He didn’t see no rings, that’s why he didn’t reach out.”

The speculation is hilarious. But so is the fact that someone actually staged a fake wedding to get back at an ex. Personally, that is a new level of petty that I aspire to be in 2022.
