There are many people who love the show, CSI, but there are also some who can be classified as super fans. Undoubtedly, Josh Nalley, who lives in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, is considered one of the biggest fans of the show.

At 42 years old, the restaurant manager has been watching CSI and he just can’t get enough of it. He wanted to do more than simply watch the show, however, he wanted to play a part in it.

Admittedly, it will be difficult for a random fan to make it onto the show but Josh had a plan. After all, he wasn’t interested in playing the lead or getting a regular part, he wanted to be on one of their crime scenes and play a dead victim.

It might surprise you to learn that there is actually a unique skill behind playing a corpse, and not everybody is able to do it. Nalley knew that he had the right stuff, so he used his TikTok account to display his abilities.

Over the past year, Nalley took videos of himself playing the “un-alive” and posing in various poses to show the producers that he was serious about the role. Here’s a good example of one of his auditions:

Although we would like to think that Nalley got this unique idea on his own, he actually got it from someone else who used social media to get some hot sauce company partnerships.

In speaking with the USA Today, he said: “I originally got this idea after seeing a woman on TikTok posting about hot sauce and then she got offers from a bunch of hot sauce companies. I thought if I was creative enough playing an un-alive person, I could get the attention of a television show or a movie production company.”

He also said that he got better as time went on. It took a while before he looked natural and could hold his breath long enough to be on screen continually.

In mid-September, he finally announced that he would be on one of the shows. He has been using his social media channel to promote that show ever since that day.

He explained that he got an email from CBS saying they saw his TikTok channel and wanted to offer him the part. He had a difficult time believing it was real at first but then they flew them out to California and he met the director for that episode.

Nalley was able to experience everything, even spending time in makeup and lying on a gurney.

Thanks to all of the efforts he put into his channel and promoting himself, laying still for that moment was a no-brainer.

He did make one mistake, and that was forgetting to turn his phone off. It went off in his pocket and was a telemarketer. It will be interesting to see if he makes it onto other shows as a corpse.
