Couple Gets Married At The Library In The Middle Of A Blizzard
Having wedding plans change last minute can be stressful, but for Sally Faulkner and Adam Irujo, a last minute cancellation for their big day was the catalyst for their perfect wedding.
According to the Washington Post, the couple was set to get married on Saturday, January 29th, 2022. The wedding had been planned since Irujo proposed to Faulker in August of 2020, but they never could’ve predicated the weather for their wedding day.

Just 24 hours before their event, the Rhode Island got a call no one would want: Their wedding vendors had to cancel their services for the wedding due to an incoming blizzard. The weather was going to be too bad for people to safely drive around and make the big day happen.
Thankfully, Faulkner and Irujo refused to let the news get them down. In an interview with the Washington Post, Irujo said, “In an hour and a half, we replanned the whole wedding.”

Despite 40-mile-per-hour winds whipping through Providence, Rhode Island, and heavy snow leaving them trapped at their hotel, the couple decided to hold a small ceremony to commemorate their big day on January 29th. It wouldn’t be anything like they’d planned for their original wedding, but they thought it would be fun and special.
According to Insider, the couple, along with their family and wedding party that was at the hotel with them, trudged through the blizzard to a neighboring library to hold the ceremony at. Irujo made the treck in a full snow suit complete with ski goggles, while Faulkner wore snow pants and a warm hat.

Once in front of the library’s stunning archway, Faulknor replaced her snow hat with a delicate veil and Irujo unzipped his snow suit to reveal a crisp tuxedo. It was cold, but sweet and simple. After the quick event, they broke into a snowball fight to celebrate!
“It was just perfect.” Faulkner told the Washington Post.
