We have always thought that the only way to clean a cutting board was by using a sponge. That’s where this woman’s awesome hack comes into play.
We now have a whole new method at our disposal and we are more than happy to pass it along to our readers. Holli (who goes by @hollicleans on TikTok) is the one who is sharing the hack with us.
Whether you need help cleaning your bathroom, organizing your child’s room, or handling your grocery shopping more efficiently, she has got you covered. This hack that we are about to show you has actually been handed down by her mother.
Instead of using a sponge to clean her cutting board like the rest of us, she grabs some baking soda and a lemon. This may seem like a foreign concept to many but she is here to explain the process to the audience. When the video begins, we see Holli taking the dirty cutting board and placing it into the sink.
“My mom taught me to clean the cutting board this way and, honestly — nothing compares,” she shares. We are glad that she is taking the time to share. The sink is turned on and Holli sprays the board down with water. From there, the cutting board was laid down flat on the bottom of the sink. She takes the baking soda and pours a generous amount onto the board itself. This is where things start to get truly interesting for us.
To get the same results as her, you will want to make sure that the board is covered. The lemon is grabbed at this point and she slices it in half. The juice is squeezed into the baking soda and the most amazing thing happens.
They combine forces, creating a powerful hissing sound that lets you know that the cutting board is getting cleaned up very nicely.
