Chef Amaury Guichon of Las Vegas’ Pastry Academy is always coming up with all sorts of awesome ideas that we never would have thought of before.

The chocolate sculptures that he creates are well worth your time. Personally, we cannot get enough of them. They are unlike anything else that we have ever seen before.

His latest creation is a truly special one, even by his usual standards. Have you ever seen a snail that was made entirely of chocolate before? Probably not, right?

The best part of all is that Guichon was actually able to break out a brand new piece of equipment when he got started on this project. His excitement in this instance was palpable, as he had been waiting for a reason to break out the new toy.

“Sometimes the most interesting techniques are found in the most basic designs. Introducing for the first time my new toy Watercut used to cut the gills of the chocolate mushroom…,” he wrote on YouTube. We definitely agree with what he has to say about simple designs. The finished product does not always have to depend on a convoluted process. In many instances, simplicity is considered best.

The chocolate snail would be cool enough to look at but Guichon was not done there. He also crafted a red-tipped mushroom to go with it and that might be the coolest part of all. Guichon pays such strong attention to detail that it is hard to imagine what these pieces would look like if someone else tried to pull them off.

Fortunately for us, this is not something that we are going to have to consider. Guichon will continue to break out these awesome sculptures every chance he gets, and he even shows off his designs on Instagram!

If you’re interested in seeing how he put it together and made the piece become a reality, Guichon also shared a video on YouTube that walks you through the process!
