Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Restaurants all over the world have been forced to alter their usual routines because of the COVID-19 outbreak. While this is a very serious situation that requires a great deal of thought, that does not mean that companies are not maintaining a sense of humor about things. And Burger King is chief among them. They are currently distributing colossal, sombrero-esque crowns for their customers to wear.

These crowns are being offered as a means of assisting those who are struggling with social distancing. In addition to these crowns, they are also providing patrons with the chance to enjoy their “social distancing Whopper.” The commercials are hilarious. As the ad says, the onions are being piled high as a means of encouraging people to keep their distance from one another.

So geht Social Distancing like a King 👑😉#socialdistancing

If there is a better way than eating tons of onions to force people to keep their distance during the quarantine era, we have yet to hear it. Those who are truly looking to keep others at bay may even want to add a pinch of garlic or two as well.

In case you are wondering, the crowns are still making their way around the world. While we have yet to see any in the United States, they have been spotted over in Germany. There are also commercials featuring the gigantic crowns playing in Italy. Hopefully, American diners will have their chance to enjoy these crowns soon. As states continue to reopen, we are sure that more and more people will be heading to Burger King.

After all, cooking for yourself is great and all but we miss the days when we could head outside and grab a burger. We are not going to be surprised when these crowns and commercials make their way to the United States and we hope that it happens soon.

Restaurants like these have to make the right decisions when it comes to the safety of their customers. Everyone is looking to get back to a semblance of normalcy but the proper precautions must be taken. Kudos to Burger King for being willing to step outside of the box and taking a moment to make everyone laugh. Now more than ever, we need companies like these to take the lead and make their facilities safe for dining.
