It is not every day that we get to see a haka performance that is this awesome. In fact, we have to admit that this performance actually gave us goosebumps!

The performance has since received millions of views all over TikTok and is causing people to become far more curious about Māori culture. @papa.and.pepe captured the performance and shared it on their TikTok page.

They had this gymnasium rocking, that is for sure. The footage is very powerful and has already been viewed over 70 million times. We are willing to bet that it will cross the 100 million mark. T

The performance took place in a wharekura, which is a secondary school that these children attend that allows them to absorb all of the necessary Māori principles.

The school utilizes the Māori language and they are sure to incorporate all of the most crucial Māori customary practices into their curriculum.

Te Aka defines the haka as a posture dance that is centered around words that are shouted rhythmically and vigorous actions. There are a number of different hakqas as well. Including among them is the haka pōhiri, which is a dance that is done to welcome visitors.

There is also a haka taparahi dance, which is a posture dance that is done without the use of weapons. When the pōtēteke dance takes place, the performers will recite their haka as they are hanging upside down.

There is even a follow-up video. In this one, there is a caption that reads “Wāhine Toa” and this phrase means “warrior women.”

“I get goosebumps every time I see videos of people doing the Haka dance,” said one viewer. “Every haka dance I’ve seen has made me tear. so much passion,” chimed in another. We are glad to see that someone is taking the time to educate the world of TikTok on foreign cultures.
