Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

It’s hard to believe that October 2020 is almost over. You may be looking beyond the month of October to some of the upcoming celebrations, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now that we are dealing with a global pandemic, daily life is not quite what it used to be. Saving some money on one of these two annual shopping days can really make you feel better about this crazy year.

Although the holiday season is going to be different this year than it has been in the past, there is one thing that will remain the same. Deep discounts will be available on everything from clothing and beauty products to electronics, appliances, and furniture. Just keep the black Friday and Cyber Monday sale dates on your calendar, and get ready to do some shopping either in the store or online.

Here are some things to help you make a success of it.

Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27 in 2020. It’s the day after Thanksgiving and it’s the biggest shopping day of the year. When it comes to discounts on any item, you will find them on this day.

Some retailers are also closing their doors on Thanksgiving to prepare and allow their employees to celebrate with their families. This includes Sam’s Club, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. There are still options for you to do a little shopping, however, right after you start digesting that Thanksgiving turkey.

Amazon prime has been ruling the roost for quite some time, but Walmart+ has now set its targets as a competitor. In September, you can avoid the stores by taking advantage of that online service. Target is also going to be rolling out low prices online and in the store, but they are starting in October and continuing through the season.

There haven’t been any strong announcements about closures for Black Friday this year. Just make sure that you pay attention because it could change, depending on local circumstances and government guidelines.

Prime Day is the Amazon answer to Black Friday and this year was fantastic. It happened on October 13-14 and shoppers got their holiday shopping started with a bang. It seems that this year, Amazon’s Prime Day was close to Black Friday.

But Amazon has not closed their doors yet, as they are now offering the Amazon Holiday Dash. It has a lot to offer for shoppers between prime day and cyber week.

Cyber Monday is another big day and it used to be the biggest online shopping day every year. In 2020, however, the competition is tough so we’ll just have to see how it goes.
