If you’re looking for a side dish that everyone will love then biscuits are a pretty safe bet. Who could resist light and fluffy carbs smothered in butter? Not me! I’ve made so many different versions over the years– some from scratch, some from a can, and just about everything in between. But, I had never tried Beer Biscuits, and with the recipe being so easy I knew I had to give them a try!

When I say easy, I mean it. These golden bites require only three ingredients: bisquick, sugar, and beer. I recommend using a beer that’s on the lighter side so the flavor isn’t too overpowering, we’re aiming for subtle here. I used a classic Rainer and was really pleased with how they tasted. Feel free to experiment with different types of beer to see what you like best!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup beer, pilsner or lager
  • 3 ½ cups bisquick
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together bisquick and sugar.
  3. Slowly pour in the beer, mixing until just combined.
  4. Scoop the batter into 8 even portions on the prepared baking sheet
  5. Bake biscuits for 9-11 minutes or until lightly golden.
  6. Serve with butter, honey, jam, or your favorite spread.
