Massage Expert Shares Tips For Getting A Fussy Baby To Sleep
Having a baby is a huge responsibility, but it can also be a huge blessing as well. Every new parent likes to think of their child as a little precious miracle.
However, they seem a little less miraculous when they’re fussy and refuse to go to sleep. But if you’re a parent to a fussy baby who refuses to fall asleep, one massage instructor just might have the answer for you.

Elina is a massage instructor who is active on TikTok – under the handle @kahlmi – with different tips and techniques for all kinds of massage needs.
One of the videos of hers that is proving quite popular is the video that shows her easy trick to get a baby to fall asleep. Basically, its just a simple massage to their forehead and brows.

In her video, Elina says, “Baby won’t sleep? This works every time! Step 1: Glide index finger from forehead to nose. Step 2: Gently rub eyebrows from inside to outside.”
Elina’s specific technique might seem to work even though it has yet to be scientifically verified. However, a report from The National Childbirth Trust shared that in general, baby massage carries a variety of benefits for the child, and there are plenty of moms who report their babies experiencing better sleep.
The NCT explains, “Baby massage is the gentle, rhythmic stroking of your baby’s body using your hands. As part of a massage routine, you might gently manipulate your baby’s ankles, wrists and fingers.”

There is a growing belief amongst many who believe that baby massage is actually a great way to further develop the bond between mother and child as the mother is able to increase her awareness of her child’s needs. Plus, it is alleged that a better mother-child relationship can help to ease any postnatal depression or other mental health issues within the mother.
NCT adds, “The evidence is inconclusive on these points but parents do say they find baby massage a lovely way of bonding with their baby.”

Granted it is still not scientifically proven to be correct, but if you’re interested in more information about baby massage then you can always click here for the NCT website.
As for Elina’s technique? There were mixed reviews in the comments, but some parents swore by the technique!
