This TikTok user is sharing their harrowing tale from a recent AirBnB visit. While these stories are always shocking to those of us who look for cheaper places to stay when we are out traveling, this one just might end up taking the cake.
The clip that you are about to see from @papiwhiterice is one for the ages, at least from a pure audacity standpoint.
The video has already picked up thousands of views and endless comments, as people want to know why a host would behave in such a patently ridiculous manner. “When our Airbnb host charges you for air,” @papiwhiterice wrote in his clip. The property’s location was not mentioned but the lockbox that you are about to see was made by a company that is located in Madrid, Spain.
When you visit the company’s website, they describe this box as a means “for saving and controlling the cost of electricity in hotels, hostels, rural houses, and all types of accommodation. They work by time, by coins or tokens.” We have never seen such a thing in all of our years and we cannot believe that this is actually a thing.
The commentators were outraged by the insanity of the lockbox. It’s bad enough that prices are rising all over, without having to pay for air conditioning in this manner. It is enough to make some of us want to stay home.
There were others who pointed out that energy prices are skyrocketing in Spain and they urged viewers to take a more open-minded approach about the current situation. Maybe things are more understandable than they seem?
We are not sure but one thing is clear: this man is none too pleased with the air conditioning set up at this AirBnB.
