When we see someone on camera, we often feel as if they are living the moment, although we know they are acting.

What many people don’t realize, however, is that there are some things that are not quite as they would appear. For example, in most cases, the coffee cups they are drinking out of are actually empty. Something similar happens when they are “eating acting.”

Although it is not something that is often discussed, millions of people are now aware of it, thanks to a viral TikTok video.

The person who posted the video, David Ma, is a professional food stylist and filmmaker. He shares tricks of the trade with that social platform, and he now is sharing the secret of eat-acting.

When an actor or actress has to eat or drink in front of the camera, they are just pretending to do so. One of the reasons why this is the case is because they often have to do the same scene a number of times, and it can be difficult to eat the same food 100 times a day.

Fortunately, there is a way to trick the system.

Essentially, it has to do with the camera work of the scene. Even though somebody may take a bite of food or a drink on camera, it will cut to another scene and give them an opportunity to spit it out.

I would be interested in seeing the entire take in a blooper real!
