2) Pimento Cheese

We’ve all had the stuff from a jar, but the history of this Southern delicacy proves there is a lot more to this spread. If you’ve ever had the homemade stuff then you know just how good it is. From elegant luncheons to family picnics, this treat has been served on a huge variety of foods – not just bread. It may come as a shock to some that this Southern staple got its start in New York. But, due to the cultivation of pimento peppers in Southern states, pimento cheese is now relished as a home grown treat.
