This recipe leans on a great sauce called garlic chili crisp. It’s an oil-based condiment that’s packed full of chili peppers and crispy slices of fried garlic. You can find it in Asian supermarkets or whip up this condiment in a pinch.

The chili sauce is whisked with soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and green onions to create an ultra-satisfying sauce that hits all of the sweet, savory, and umami elements.

Rice paper wrappers used to make spring rolls are hydrated in warm water and then sliced into thick, noodle-like strips.

With noodles and sauce combined, the 5-Minute Chili Noodles are ready to serve.

The sauce has so many elements without using the entire pantry or refrigerator’s worth of ingredients. Honey adds a note of sweetness, while the soy sauce adds that salty, umami kick. That special chili crisp has a bit of crunch as well as an aromatic garlic taste and a heavy kick of spicy chilis.

It’s a great dish to serve with sweet and sour chicken or pork, or even seared shrimp. The combinations of proteins you can pair with these noodles are endless!
