4 “Lazy” Recipes that Require Minimal Cooking

There’s nothing wrong with being lazy. In fact, being lazy can be downright delicious. Who says you need an arsenal of ingredients or an encyclopedia’s worth of directions to make something tasty? Skip the processed and pre-made, and opt for one of these lazy recipes – a from-scratch treat doesn’t have to be hard to make. Here we have four delicious lazy day recipes you can whip up in no time.

Lazy Man’s Cabbage Rolls

Cabbage rolls are so good that regional recipes for them appear all around the globe. And don’t get us wrong, we LOVE classic stuffed cabbage, but sometimes we just don’t feel like dealing with all the rolling that the classic recipes entail. You might say we’re lazy. But even lazy people sometimes crave cabbage rolls, and that’s where this recipe comes in.
These are our “Lazy Man’s” Cabbage Rolls, and while they don’t actually involve any rolling at all, they have all of the classic, comforting flavor you know and love. It’s an easy way to use up a lingering head of cabbage or some leftover rice, but mostly we just couldn’t be happier that this recipe gives us the ability to make a quick weeknight meal out of a beloved comfort classic!

3-Ingredient Lazy Lasagna

I think we can all agree that lasagna is great. Like really, really great – but what’s not so great about it is that the preparation can feel a little tedious what with the pasta sheets sticking together, and the sheer number of components, and so on and so forth. This lasagna has none of those drawbacks because it uses just three ingredients (three!!) and takes all of five minutes to get into the oven. Now, your Nonna might smack you if you tried to pass it off as a truly traditional lasagna, but for those of us who are very lazy (or just very busy) and don’t mind a little leg-up in the kitchen now and then, it’ll pass muster just fine. It hits all the right notes – cheesy and comforting and saucy, but it’s simple enough for any given weeknight.

Instant Pot Lazy Lasagna

Lasagna is one of our favorite meals. It’s comforting and delicious and something that, if it’s on the menu, we’re ordering it. That being said, it can be a bit of a pain to make ourselves and we reserve making it for very special occasions. Or at least that’s what we thought. We’ve made a couple versions of lasagna that are a little untraditional (slow cooker lasagna soup comes to mind), but this recipe is both one of the easiest versions we’ve tried and one that tastes the most like the real deal!

Lazy Day Oatmeal Cake

You know we’ve got an insatiable sweet tooth and love mixing up new cakes and confections as a solution to our cravings. While most of our cakes start with the standard base of flour, baking soda and salt, along with some combo of butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla, this lazy day oatmeal cake is a little different…. Rolled oats that have been left to soak in boiling water act as a supplement to the flour, adding a dense, nutritious element that makes our cake perfectly chewy and delicious.
