I’m all about finding quick, easy, and delicious meals. Who isn’t? Sure, I love rolling up my sleeves every once in a while and cooking up a storm, but most of the time I’m looking for the fastest, easiest way to feed my hungry family. Enter the 15-minute skillet pepper steak recipe.

This meal takes just 15 minutes to prepare, as the name suggests, and even better, it’s all cooked using one skillet! This means less clean-up. An easy meal with only a few dishes? Yes, please! And all the more so when it’s as tasty as this one. Check out the video below to see how it all comes together.

A bowl of steak and peppers

To get started on this quick, simple dinner, season steak with salt and pepper. Then, in a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add steak to the skillet and stir-fry until browned on the exterior but not fully cooked, about 2 minutes.

Next, transfer the steak to a medium bowl. Add soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes. Toss well to combine. In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon oil over medium heat. Add peppers in an even layer. Cook, tossing occasionally, until just tender, about 4 minutes.

For the next step, go ahead and push the peppers to one side of the skillet and return the steak to the other side of the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes. Stir garlic into peppers and cook for 1 minute more. Garnish steak with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve up hot!

I love that you can have this meal as-is, or dress it up any way you want. Add some rice and make yourself a nice steak and veggie bowl, grab some tortillas and make fajitas, or simply add a few sides to round out the meal as you see fit. Check out the full ingredient list and recipe below!
