We all love a good word game, and the latest to take the world by storm has been Wordle. It has been the surprise of 2022, having risen out of a game created to entertain the family group chat during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once it caught on with the public, many people became infatuated with the daily spelling puzzle. And the best part of all? It was free to play.

Given its popularity, it comes as no surprise that a new, Wordle-like game is gaining exposure. It is called Worldle. Just like Wordle, it is completely free to play and gives the player six chances to solve their daily puzzle.

However, instead of guessing a random word, this new game is geography-based and requires the player to solve a puzzle on the valid country or territory. The game proves the clue in the form of a location’s silhouette. Other clues include the distance, direction, and proximity from other countries. So for example, you might have a clue like Anguilla being 14,010 kilometers away from the target country. The game is entirely online, and there is no app to download.

If you want to play Worldle, you can check out worldle.teuteuf.fr, where you can type in your first guess to the clue provided. From there, you can press the Guess button, then get ready for a load of fun.

If you’re not familiar with the metric system, then you’ve been forewarned that the default for the units of distance within the game are in kilometers. But the good news is that you can choose to change the settings to miles – and you do this by going in and selecting the Settings gear icon. You even have a chance to change the display between a light or dark mode from the Settings icon.

Additionally, you can even up the ante of the game by giving yourself a real challenge and hiding the country’s silhouette and trying to guess just based on the other clues given. Talk about a real head-scratcher. But if you do get it right, there is a celebratory party popper emoji that pops up in the column. Similarly to Wordle, Worldle offers a daily puzzle, meaning each day you get a new challenge. Much like Wordle as well, you can share your results of the game on social media. It might be a great way to show off your geography skills with the people in your life!
