Going out to eat at a restaurant is such an exhilarating experience. It’s as if the good times will never end. Yes, I will have an appetizer! Maybe a beer on the side?

The options seem endless and no one is thinking about the bill while the food and drinks are flowing. Eventually, the tab makes its way to the table, though. It can be a sobering experience if you are not truly prepared for it.

TikToker Damienne Flagler learned this lesson the hard way during a recent visit to The Boiler in Atlanta. Flagler indulged in a decadent seafood feast but once the bill came? The tune changed a bit.

She was incredulous at some of the prices and buyer’s remorse arrived with a vengeance. It wasn’t long before she was lamenting the squandered opportunity cost.

“I swear we could’ve got a house full of groceries,” she said and we feel you on that one! She even asked if she could do some dishes to pay off the debt that she had worked up. That’s where we have to draw the line, personally. The whole point of going out to dinner is to avoid having to do dishes in the first place.

She ran up this tab in a very understandable way. It all started with a blue rock candy martini ($14). From there, Flagler chowed down on fried crab cakes ($18), fried cheese sticks ($8), sweet potato fries ($7), and seafood eggrolls ($16) when it was time for appetizers. Before the main course came, she threw back another blue rock candy martini to “boost her appetite.”

Flagler got started with a $64.99 boil bag, which comes chock full of lobster tails ($22) and snow crabs ($39.99). For an extra $6, crawfish, shrimp, and beef sausage were added. Black mussels, corn, egg, potato, and ramen noodles were another add-on, to the tune of $10.

Far from content, she even tacked on six pieces of the king crab, adding another $200 to the tab in the process.

“Y’all got to try this place. But I got to keep it 100% with y’all. This is not a cheap date. My big a– ordering all of this food, and I didn’t even realize the king crab alone [was] $200! What!?” she said once the bill came. “Your belly gone be full but your pockets gone be empty,” the caption reads. The final number? $527.37! We hope it was worth it.
