Sometimes when you want something sweet it can be really hard to choose what you want. Like maybe you want a chocolate chip cookie… but maybe you also want pie. Great news! With Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie pie you don’t have to choose — you can have it all. Basically a gooey chocolate chip cookie in a flaky pie shell, it’s a genius (and timeless) recipe from Nestle.

You don’t need a long list of fancy ingredients here. Just a storebought pie shell, some flour, eggs, butter, and the like, and some chocolate chips and walnuts (if you’d like).

It's basically chocolate chip cookie ingredients and a pie shell but you're going to go about combining them in a different order than you would cookies.

First, you’ll beat the eggs and vanilla until they’re foamy and then you’ll beat in the flour and sugars. Then and only then, the butter goes in. Chocolate chips and walnuts get stirred in last and then it all gets poured into the pie shell.

It will take almost an hour to bake and still the center will be gooey, but don’t fret. That’s kind of the whole point. If you insert a toothpick in the area that’s halfway between the edge and the center, that should come out clean and you’ll know that you’re done.

But you want that center to be fudgy and ooey-gooey and supported by flaky pie crust. It’s a balance of beautiful textures and it’s absolutely ideal a la mode.
