The other day while scrolling through Instagram way past my bedtime – as one does when you’re an adult – I came across a hilarious meme that read, “The older I get the more I understand why the Grinch wanted to live alone with his dog.” And yes, I totally felt that meme. It’s so true.

While The Grinch might be a fictional character that was mean and scary as a kid, when you’re an adult, he just goes from being a villain to just an anti-hero.

We all have a little Grinch in us somewhere, and if this holiday season has you wanting to embrace it a little more, why not immerse yourself in the character by spending a night inside the Grinch’s famous cave?

Unfortunately, there is no Max. But that shouldn’t discourage you too much, as the vacation rental is set to look exactly like the one in the film. It was created as a collaboration between Dr. Seuss Enterprises and vacation rental company, Vacasa.

The 5,700-square-foot space has all the fine touches to make it look like a real-life Grinch cave, including an organ piano, bookcases, and even a doggie bed for the non-existence Max. There is even a set of cozy-looking Grinch slippers! It’s all made to imitate the 2018 animated movie “Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch.”

Because of the holiday season, the prices for the Grinch cave rental is the same as what it would’ve been back in 1957 when the Dr. Seuss book first came out: $20 per night! That is a complete steal. However, there is a catch. As it turns out, the Grinch cave is located in Boulder, Utah. Adding to that, it can only be accessed if you drive an SUV which is a crossover or bigger.

The vacation rental definitely advises having a 4-wheel drive. But that’s not all. There is no food within the Grinch cave so you should definitely plan to bring your own. The Grinch cave is not fitted with wifi or cable, so you need to also plan for your own entertainment.

If you want to take a 3-D tour of the Grinch cave, you can do so by clicking here. Unfortunately, it’s looking like it’s all booked up for the holiday season this year, but there is always next year!
