While we love being able to make cookies from scratch whenever possible, sometimes it’s nice to have a quick and easy backup like store-bought cookie dough. However, that doesn’t mean your cookies have to be boring! Here are a few quick and easy ways to spruce up the pre-made cookie dough. Which one is your favorite?
How great are these cookies? If you can’t decide between chocolate chip, red velvet, oatmeal raisin, or sugar cookies, why not have them all? For this cookie hack, just grab your favorite store-bought cookies and an apple slicer.
Slice the dough and line up the different wedges of cookie dough on parchment paper, placing the round center on top. Roll the parchment paper so that the cookie wedges make a circle. Refrigerate the dough for an hour. Then, just slice cookies off of the log and bake as directed!
PB&J Sandwich Cookies
These are just too cute! Start with sugar cookie dough and take a wooden spoon and rock it back and forth on the top of the log to create a little indentation. Repeat the wooden spoon treatment on the left and right side of the log. Then, brush vanilla extract on the outside of the log, slice the dough, and bake as directed.
Once baked and cooled, you know the deal. Put peanut butter on one cookie, jelly on the other, and make a little sandwich!
Looking for a fun way to make your cookies stand out? Forget the mess and frustrations of cookie cutters and try this hack on for size. Star by cutting the cookie dough log into rounds, like you normally would. Then, cut off the top 1/3 of the cookie and discard.
Make a slit in the top of the cookie, and two smaller slits off to the side. Roll the longer strip of cookie into the shape of a swan’s neck and pinch the end to make a beak. Fan out the “feathers” and bake in the oven!
