Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

There are certain stories that make you do a double take because you absolutely cannot believe what you are reading and this one is definitely one of them.

This one takes us back to when we were little. If you are anything like us, you used to take your Spaghetti-O’s and use them to write out all kinds of messages. TikTok user @tsj_electronics is here to bring back that childhood game and he is sharing the results with his TikTok followers.

Of course, it probably won’t shock you to find out that his video went viral. Once you have had the chance to see what he has done here, you won’t be able to resist sharing it yourself. Do not worry, though. He is not doing this the hard way.

In fact, he has come up with a way to work smarter, not harder. This highly intelligent man has managed to come up with a script that will let you know just how many cans of Spaghetti-O’s it will take to write out the Lord of the Rings trilogy. You can find out about other books, of course, but this man is answering the important questions as quickly as possible.

We love to see technology being used wisely. To get started, he took the time to figure out the distribution of each letter in each can of Spaghetti-O’s. From there, the data was plugged into the system that he came up with. For the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it did not take long before he figured out that there were 2,261,081 letters in the book series.

The letter “e” appears the most frequently. Can you believe that this single letter takes up over 12% of the books?

The program does the rest of the work from there and the results are astounding. According to this man and his amazing program, the trilogy requires 8,795 cans of Spaghetti-O’s.

To purchase this many cans, you would need to have over $12,000 on hand.

“This is what programming was meant for,” said one viewer and we cannot stop laughing. At least this man is taking the time to find out more about the truly important things in life.
