Ladies of all ages know about the importance of having a vast collection of shoes. However, our husbands are not always as understanding of this. They often don’t realize that there is no such thing as owning too many pairs of shoes. On the other hand, we do understand that they can take up a lot of room. Having proper shoe storage is important to maximize space.

These four methods are as simple as they come and they are to spruce up your living space. If you have more shoes than you know what to do with, check out these efficient shoe storage ideas.

1. Use an Old Bookshelf

Do you have any old bookshelves with adjustable shelving? If so, this could provide you a sizable amount of extra space for your shoe storage. The adjustable shelves are especially sure to come in handy for those who have lots of different shoe types to store. You can arrange the taller boots to rest on the bottom shelf, while all of the smaller shoes are able to remain up top. High heels are best for these shelves, while the flats and running shoes can be stored in the middle.

2. Utilize Your Bed

While the bed, itself, is not going to be used for storage, you may have more room underneath than you initially realized. To get started, grab a large picture frame and organize the shoes within that frame. This gives you the chance to easily slide shoes in and out from under the bed, as needed. Best of all, you are not taking up any actual space in the home.

3. Do It Yourself Shelving

PVC piping is one of the best ways to make sure you are able to store all of your extra shoes, without destroying the family budget. Slice up the PVC piping and stack it. A job so easy, anyone could handle it.

4. Ottoman Storage Containers

Most ottomans come with a storage department and thanks to this trick, they make shoe storage a snap. Grab one of the over-the-door shoe organizers, cut it, staple it to the inside and you are good to go. For best results, use a canvas organizer.
