Indoor houseplants are growing in popularity, but they can be hard to care for. Most people bring the plants home with high hopes. But between learning how and when to water, repot, feed, and what temperature/light needs they have, it can be a lot to get it just right. Despite many best efforts, they end up shriveling up and dying.

Fortunately, one company is here to provide a solution to the problems of houseplants.

The company created “smart planters” that take the guess-work away from your plant’s needs. The planter is named Lua and she can communicate the plant’s feelings for you. For those of us who truly take the health of our plants seriously, this is a very important purchase to make.

The pot’s facial expressions change based on how the plant feels that day. How genius! Once you have purchased the planter, all you need to do is download the company’s free app. From there, scan the QR code and input the plant type. This gives you the chance to find out everything you need to know about the plant.

There are 15 different facial expressions, which makes it easy to find out exactly what your plant is going through at the moment. A thirsty plant displays its tongue and has an open mouth. If the plant is not getting enough sunlight, their face will morph into a vampire-type expression. When you overwater the plant, they display a face that is all puffed out.

Head to Indiegogo if you would like to learn more about the planters. Because of COVID-19 delaying progress, the planters are currently only available for pre-order here.
