Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

There are many things to watch on TikTok and more than likely, you’ve gone down that rabbit hole in the past. It may start out watching recipe or dance videos but before you know it, you are learning about people and their private lives.

One of the ways in which this happens on that social media platform is when people share how much they make at their job. At one time, this was somewhat of a taboo subject, but these days, it seems as if it is a very popular topic.

One person who made a splash when she talked about her earnings was a server at Red Lobster. After revealing how much she makes in an evening, people stepped up to comment on the subject.

Some people were impressed by her earnings and other people were not very happy with them. If there’s one thing we know about social media, it’s the fact that people have opinions and they aren’t afraid to post them.

As far as Jasmine Anderson and her job situation are concerned, she makes most of her money through tips. On a recent Friday, she totaled up her tips and posted the information on TikTok.

After working with 20 tables, and serving food and drinks to a total of $1500 in sales, she started to run through her tips.

For one bill, the table paid $111, and she received an $18 tip. Another table paid $115 for food and beverages, and she got zero dollars as a tip. And a small tip came in from an $83 bill at $6.79.

Many of these tips were lower than you would typically see, but there were also some good tips included. A $94 bill got her a 30% tip of $29 and she got another 18% tip on a $108 bill, earning $20.

Her tips were a total of $209 for the night. When you add them up, she makes about $30 an hour. Perhaps that is why she said she couldn’t complain about that money working only six hours.

Some people in the comments thought that it was a good amount of money to make. She also makes a small hourly wage, although she didn’t reveal how much it was.

Other people quickly complained that they didn’t make that much money at a professional job. Others commented that she didn’t make much money in tips compared to what they made.

In the end, she seems to be happy with the amount she made. Even though others may be complaining about it, it is her decision to be happy with it.
