There really is only one name in the ranch dressing game, and that’s Hidden Valley. The creamy white sauce is a wonderful condiment for all sorts of different foods, whether it’s salad, or pizza, or even chicken nuggets or fries.
Surprisingly, it’s one of the things that I miss about living in the states is being able to squirt it on the side of my plate and dip my pizza into it.
Ireland’s got a garlic mayo dip for pizza, but it’s not the same as ranch dressing. And for those of us who are die-hard ranch dressing enthusiasts, there is something new coming out that will definitely be raising a few brows. That would be ranch-flavored ice cream.
Yes, you have read that correctly. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is going to be collaborating with Hidden Valley in order to create the ice cream. If the idea of ranch-flavored ice cream doesn’t deter you, then you will be interested to know that it’s available nationwide from the 20th of March, but it will only be exclusively sold at Walmart stores.

As for what it tastes like, Van Leeuwen says the ice cream has the “savory flavors of ranch, including buttermilk, flavorful herbs and a touch of sweetness,” adding that it is a wonderful pairing for salty snacks such as pretzels or potato chips.
The associate director at Hidden Valley Ranch, Rachel Garrison, explained in a press release, “We know that Hidden Valley Ranch goes with just about everything — pizza, carrots, French fries — but ice cream is a first for us. We are so excited to partner with Van Leeuwen, the expert in limited-edition, premium flavors, to bring together this creamy mix of savory and sweet.”
The Hidden Valley Ranch ice cream is just one of several new flavors being rolled out this spring by Van Leeuwen. The ice cream makers will also be releasing Sweet Maple Cornbread, Blood Orange Chocolate Chip, Carrot Cake, Strawberry Shortcake, Honey Graham Cracker and Limoncello Cake.
The ranch ice cream, as well as the other new flavors, will all be available at 3,500 Walmart stores nationwide, where they will retail at $4.98. Sadly, these will all be limited-release ice creams, so they won’t last long. In fact, they’re only available from March 20th to May 28th.
