But, eating out isn’t always in the budget and that is where these quick and easy Soy Sauce Noodles come in handy. Made in a matter of minutes with mostly pantry staples, it’s a meal that’s almost as easy as placing a takeout order.

This recipe sticks to the basics with a fool-proff homemade sauce and simple additions like green onion and peanuts. You’re welcome to add in your favorite protein and veggies. I personally love broccoli, red pepper, and bean sprouts with this dish. Everything is cooked together on the stovetop and, before you know it, dinner will be ready!

Ingredients
  • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 green onions, diced
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • Optional: 1/4 cup peanuts
Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Preparation
  1. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until fully combined.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil, then garlic and white ends of the green onion. Cook for about 2 minutes or until fragrant.
  3. Add noodles to the skillet and stir ingredients together. Cook noodles for 2-3 minutes, then add the sauce.
  4. Reduce heat to low and cook for 3-4 more minutes or until sauce thickens.
  5. Add the remaining green onions, peanuts, and sesame oil. Toss to combine.
  6. Serve warm with veggies or meat of your choice.
