Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

In order for retail to survive it needs to get better. It needs to be more of an experience. Nordstrom understands this and opened a new flag store with 7 bars and restaurants.

It will also be a one-stop-shop for booking beauty services, including airbrush tanning, facials, blowouts, manicures, and will include AR-enhanced makeup help. There’s even an option to get a glass of champagne or wine delivered to you anywhere in the store.

The 320,000-square-foot store in New York City will only include women’s clothing and is hoping to attract both high-end and low-end shoppers.

“We’re not just opening a store – we’re expanding in a market,” Jamie Nordstrom, president of stores, said in a statement. “New York represents our largest online market. Our goal is to maximize our full-line business opportunity through our NYC flagship store, combined with our digital and physical market assets, including Nordstrom Local and Nordstrom Rack, to provide customers with greater access to merchandise selection, and faster delivery.”
