Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

It’s very rare for different foods and flavors from different countries to make their way to the USA. From octopus flavored ice cream to cucumber flavored potato chips, our palettes just don’t understand the appeal.

The people that crave these wild flavorings and tastes will go to great lengths to find them online. There are even entire communities around these wacky treats. But Mountain Dew is bringing it’s ‘Violet With Grape Flavor’ soda from Japan as people apparently really want it.

The “uber-rare product,” as it’s described, was announced at FYE stores and online on Aug. 10. While there is only a limited supply of the beverage, it is still in stock as of this post…So hurry!

“The Violet version has delicious grape flavor and contains vegetable and elderberry juice to give it a unique taste,” the description says. Elderberry is a very timely ingredient (Whether they knew this or not) as the dark purple berry has been used for medicinal purposes.

You can get a can of Mountain Dew Violet at FYE for $5.99 with a limit of 12 cans per customer. If may seem a little steep, but that’s because it is considered a collector’s item.
