Whether you are someone who misses spending time by the water this summer or you are a big fan of The Little Mermaid, these succulents are here to change the game. These plants are able to add some much-needed vibrancy to the home and they bring the seaside to life and allow us to be a bit less bummed out about our canceled beach plans.

Hmmm…🐋🧜🏼‍♀️🐬 🌵not for sale🌵 🌵crested senecio vitalis🌵crested only because Mother Nature decided to when and how, so no two are alike. Found these among my 9 big bushes of senecio vitalis after the last few winters. #crestedseneciovitalis #seneciovitalis #quarantineprojects #shelterinplacelife #quarantine #californiagarden #gardendesigns #californiasucculents #succulent #succulove #succulentgarden #succulentobsession #succulentjunkie #succulentobsessed #succulentdesign #succulentlover #succulentaddict #succulentlove #succulenthoarder #succulentcity #bayareasucculents #crazysucculentlady #cactusmagazine #ilovesucculents #succulenttherapy #planttherapy #cacti #cacticacti #mysunsetgarden

Some might remember the succulents by their official name: crested senecio vitalis. But that does not have quite the same ring to it as “mermaid tail succulents.” These plants look like they mated with a cactus before they made their way into our homes. This contributes to their truly unique appearance. Some might even describe them as dreamy.

Best of all, this particular variation does not require you to have a green thumb. They are low maintenance and can be grown during the wintertime. The mermaid tails are dormant during the summer months and they thrive in sandier soil. If you have an outdoor rock garden, these succulents will make for a perfect addition.

Unfortunately for us plant-lovers, these 100% natural succulents are not easy to find. If you’re looking to bring one home, Etsy is typically the best place to begin.

[ B O N B O N ] One of my simple pleasures besides rescuing plants has turned out to be turning succulent rescues into bonsai trees. Here are two that I’ve had for sometime now. Crassula Gollum on the left and Crested Senecio Vitalis/Serpents Blue Chalk Fingers on the right that I potted as a clipping in 2016. . . #seneciovitalis #bluechalksticks #crassula #bonsai #succulent #succulents #sukulent #garden #succulove #succulentlife #succulent_only #succulentlover #california_igers #naturaleza #naturelover #nature_perfection #succulents #succulentlife #succulenthappy #succulentsofinstagram #succulentwonderland #succulentobsessed #vivero

In the meantime, please share this story with the green thumbs (and not so green thumbs) in your life. These succulents are some of the cutest flowers that we have come across in a long time which is why they definitely need to be shared with a much wider audience. We cannot be the only ones who are dreaming about taking them home.
