Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

While many of us will claim that more should be done for our nation’s educators, McDonald’s is putting their money (and their McMuffins!) where their mouth is.

More importantly, they are taking the time to properly appreciate those who take the time to teach our children. From the dates of October 11-15, teachers, administrators, and school staff will be able to enjoy free breakfasts.

Those who qualify will be given the chance to choose from the Egg McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, or Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit. To wash it down, they’ll be able to choose between a medium McCafe, hot or iced coffee, or a soft drink.

The process to get the free food is as simple as it gets. All you have to do if you qualify is head to your local McDonald’s and present your school ID.

Before you try to double-dip, allow us to warn you. McDonald’s is limiting the purchase of these breakfast meals to one per person. That is not all that McDonald’s has to offer here. There is also a chance for those who do not work in education to participate.

Anyone who would like to get in on the fun is easily able to do so. If you would like to pay homage to your favorite educator, head to Twitter, TikTok, or Instagram and share a post using the hashtag #ThankYouMeal. McDonald’s will share some of the posts with that hashtag and they’re also selecting someone to receive a special food delivery.

Imagine how awful things would be without all of the help that they have to offer. This story has made us wistful for our school days. If only there was a way to make sure that all of our old teachers also got a McDonald’s breakfast of their own! Hopefully, this can become a regular yearly tradition, allowing our educators to receive the praise (and the free meals) that they deserve.
