The idea that we all have a doppelganger is something that most of us have already wrapped our minds around. While most of us will never have the chance to run into ours, this man had the opportunity recently and he was sure to share it with the rest of us.
This man, who goes by u/seandouglasmcardle on Reddit, was happy to pass his findings along and we cannot stop laughing at the sheer serendipity of it all.
He posted the photo in the r/funny forum on Reddit and it has already racked up six-figure upvotes.
“Today I randomly swam past my ‘doppelseaner’ at the Flamingo pool in Vegas,” the caption reads. “My name is Sean. Hence ‘doppelseäner,’ as opposed to ‘doppelgänger,'” he further explained in the comment section.
“I was just swimming by in the pool and a big group of strangers were pointing at me and laughing. I got really self-conscious,” he went on to say. Once he looked back at his buddies, he realized that everyone else had noticed his doppelganger. We cannot begin to imagine how funny this must have been for everyone who was present for this big moment.
“I immediately thought, ‘holy s*** that guy looks like the dude I see in the mirror.’ And my second thought was, ‘He looks cooler than me. Probably has real Club Master Ray Bans unlike my Zenni knockoffs,’” Sean wrote in the comments. The resemblance is insanely uncanny and we cannot get over it. We thought that we were nursing a hangover the first time that we saw it.

While the two are very similar from a visual standpoint, Sean says that his doppelganger’s voice actually sounds much different from his own. The part that is tripping us out the most is the glasses. How on earth did these two men both end up purchasing identical-looking glasses?
