Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Good friends are hard to find. The guy you’re about to meet is lucky enough to have more than one.

Kaeleb Mattix was excited to come back home to Greenville, Michigan, after completing his Marine Corps Boot Camp.

His best friends couldn’t wait for his return, either.

Kaeleb’s friends describe him as someone who will always go out of his way to help others, so they wanted to do something nice for him in return.

Right after high school graduation, Kaeleb bought an ’04 Chevy Silverado Duramax. It had a ton of miles on it, lots of rust and damage, and the heat was broken.

“It was really rough, that truck was rough,” one of his friends said.

Still, the run-down truck became Kaeleb’s true pride and joy.

Two weeks before his highly anticipated homecoming, Kaeleb’s best friends had concocted a secret plan — one that would require a lot of time, a lot of manpower, and a lot of money.

They redid his whole truck, and turned it into something beautiful.

“I see it, and instantly it was just water works, I was just crying like a little baby,” Kaeleb said.
