June is fast approaching, and that means it will soon be the start of Pride Month. Over the years, there have been more companies and businesses that are celebrating the month, and this year, Lego is one of them.

The company has announced it will launch its first-ever LGTBQ+ set which is called, “Everyone is Awesome.” The set draws inspiration from the rainbow flag and will include 11 figurines, each one that comes in a different color.

The official Twitter page for Lego posted, “We’re super excited to reveal our new set — LEGO Everyone is Awesome! Because we celebrate every LEGO builder.”

The Vice President of design at Lego, and the set designer, Matthew Ashton, shared insight in an official statement that he was inspired to create a Lego model that stood for inclusivity.

He further added that he wanted a design that “celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love.”

Ashton elaborated that every person is unique, therefore, everyone deserves an accepting space where they can be themselves. He stated that the new Lego model showcases this company’s belief that “everyone is awesome.”

He also said that the Lego isn’t just an LGBTQ+ community celebration within the Lego Group, but also a wider celebration of its adult fan base. Adding to this, Lego confirmed on Twitter that they would be providing support to a variety of organizations, such as the U.K. charity Diversity Role Models – a group dedicated to helping kids learn empathy. The Twitter announcement also stated this Lego support would be an ongoing thing.
