Any actress who portrays Harley Quinn has massive shoes to fill. She’s one of the most beloved comic book characters of all time, to say the least.

Of course, the recent portrayals from Margot Robbie and Kaley Cuoco have played a major role in that. Now, there is a brand new Harley Quinn who is going to be making her way to the big screen.

Lady Gaga will be playing the role this time and we are beyond excited to see what she brings to the table. We know that she is going to give it her all, that is for sure. You never have to worry about her half-stepping when it comes to a role of this nature. Last year, we found out that she was joining the cast of the upcoming Joker sequel and we have not been able to wait ever since.

This past Valentine’s Day, Gaga shared a photo from the set with her and Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, but the picture did not reveal much about Gaga’s costume or the role that she is going to be playing. She added a caption that read “Folie à Deux.”

All this did was build even more anticipation for more revelations and at long last, they arrived.

The new pictures shared on Instagram by a fan account showcase Gaga in full character and she is being escorted away by the police. People have been wondering if her role would play into the expectations that audiences have for Lady Gaga. On the other hand, others have wondered if she would ramp things down a bit and conform to the more gritty aesthetic that Todd Phillips has created.

So far, it seems that the latter is taking place. Of course, there are those who are going to point out the obvious. This is just one scene and we have no idea what the writers and art directors have cooked up for the remainder of the film. We’ve got quite a long wait before we are able to find out.

The movie is not going to be making its way to theaters until October 2024. Anyone who is looking to catch up on the DCU films is more than welcome to check them out on HBO Max. The Harley Quinn animated series is also a great watch for anyone who has yet to see it.
