Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Cheesecake always seems to be on the menu for Christmas. It’s a delicious way to end a meal on a sweet note.

Considering the fact that Kraft is known for its cheese, you would probably think that they were on board with the cheesecake dessert idea. As it turns out, they would like you to try something different this year.

It seems as if the cream cheese is not easy to find this year. That isn’t surprising, considering the fact that supply chains have been spotty, to say the least.

As a result, Kraft is going to give $20 back to some 18,000 shoppers who are purchasing other dessert ingredients.

A promotion is available and you can sign up to claim your $20. Anytime between noon on December 17 and Christmas Eve, you can sign on the dotted line in the hopes to get the promised money.

Instead of making cheesecake, the company suggests that you make other treats, such as cupcakes or brownies.

Due to the pandemic, cheesecake is becoming increasingly difficult to find on the store shelves. A cyber attack made things even worse, as the supply chain was closed for an entire day in October.

According to the New York Post. Kraft says that worker shortages is also a problem, including those who work at the factory, truck drivers, and those who package the supplies.

Families are not the only ones suffering as a result of the lack of cream cheese. It is also a problem for restaurants and many other businesses, as they have to suspend the creation of some culinary treats until the supply chain is back up and running at full speed again.

Another victim of this issue are New York bagel shops. After all, what’s a bagel without cream cheese? According to the New York Times, some shop owners have to travel to New Jersey in order to get cream cheese for their customers.
