Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Some of us might have noticed a few extra pounds because of the past two years. COVID-19 has meant many more hours at home, and that sometimes translates to mindlessly snacking in between meals or extended hours in front of the TV with Netflix.

So, when it comes to slimming down, many of us might be hoping to see the numbers on the scale go down. But losing weight isn’t easy. Most of the success lies in both diet and exercise.

But when it comes to diet, no one size fits all. Some people find success in a variety of diets, but the trick is to find something long-term.

For John Clark, the start of his weight loss journey meant that he wanted to do things in a way that wasn’t total deprivation. Rather than completely cutting out all his favorite foods, he chose to just be more aware of calories.

That is why he started preparing his food beforehand so that he could measure out portions that would be suitable for his calorie count. And his system proved to be quite helpful and has become a part of his life.

The meal prep has even expanded to include other recipe favorites. He even got his girlfriend to join him.

Of course, when it comes to meal prepping, we often assume that it’s just a bunch of salads in containers. But Clark’s meal prepping has been anything but boring.

Instead of endless salads, he has prepped fun foods such as burgers and pasta. He even makes cool-looking breakfast sandwiches.
