Most people are familiar with Jimmy Fallon because of his late-night talk show. He often hosts celebrities, from movie stars to famous singers and comedians.
What you may not know about Jimmy Fallon is that he also has a lot of talent. He has been in the studio with famous individuals, including Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney. He even won a Grammy award for the best comedy album.
That is why Fallon was a shoo-in for a practical joke that would be hilarious to watch. He got an audition for the talent show, “The Voice,” and the judges had no idea.
He performed a blind audition for the coaches, who were also his friends. Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton are all too familiar with Fallon and his antics. There were also newer coaches on the show, Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper.
The song of choice was Michael McDonald’s “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)”, and from the start, the judges’ reactions were perfect. They couldn’t hold back their surprise when they heard him start singing.
Kelly Clarkson was the first judge to spin her chair around, and she couldn’t help but laugh when she saw Jimmy Fallon. It wasn’t long before Chance and Horan did the same.
The holdout was Blake Shelton, who recognized Fallon’s voice and refused to turn around. Fallon went up and pushed the button for him, with Shelton joking that he broke the rules.
Fallon had sent a text message to Carson Daly, asking if he could come over to celebrate Shelton leaving the show after 23 seasons. Fortunately, he wasn’t surprised and admitted that he knew what was going on, so he refused to hit the button.
On the other hand, Clarkson said she spun her chair around to get on Fallon’s team. He thanked her for turning around. You can watch it unfold for yourself in the video below:
