If you are willing to deal with extreme levels of discomfort and cold, you just might end up benefiting from this hangover cure. As it turns out, people have discovered the advantages of dunking their faces in ice water and we absolutely cannot stop laughing to save our lives. These folks are much, much bolder than we are ever going to be in this regard.

Whatever happened to grabbing another beer to wash down a plate of greasy food? Times have changed since our drinking days, we suppose.

This is known as the “ice bowl trick” or the “ice bowl challenge” and of course, people are dying to know if it will actually work or not. It’s a good question to ask before embarking on such an insane quest.

Once those throbbing headaches arrive, we guess that people are willing to try just about anything. That desperation is certainly fueling the popularity of the trend. TikTok user @ashyizzle tried the hack and shared it with her followers, claiming to “feel amazing” after the fact.

The hack does not make much sense to us. Pharmacist Dr. Chris Jackson does claim that it will help but he does not specifically mention hangovers in his clip.

“Put your face in a bowl of ice water, let the water hit your nostrils, and hold your face in the water for 5-10 seconds up to 3x. This will activate the diver’s reflex and help with nausea. Its also great for anxiety, migraines, and your skincare routine,” he says on TikTok.
