Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

We all love using quality cookware, but sometimes we may have difficulty pronouncing the name. That includes Le Creuset, which is one of the better-known French kitchenware brands, but one of the least known when it comes to pronunciation.

If you have difficulty pronouncing Le Creuset, don’t feel too bad. Even Southern chef and TV personality Vivian Howard had a hard time with it.

When Food & Wine shared a video from Le Creuset, it showed Howard preparing to sear meat in her large Le Creuset pot. She said: “For the longest time I had such a crush on them but I could never verbalize it because I didn’t know how to say it and I was so afraid of sounding like a big old redneck.”

Le Creuset is used by home cooks and professional chefs everywhere. It’s hard to ignore the cast-iron, colorful cookware, which has led to its popularity. They were introduced by the company back in 1925, and their Dutch ovens are their most popular choice. If you plan on roasting any slow dishes, casseroles, or stew, you may want to give it a try.
